Abe Mathabe was initially trained at the JHB Art Foundation. His ability to produce highly detailed fine art saw him go on to study graphic design at the college. Since then he has studied at Newtwon's Artist Proof Studio and has become well recognised as an artist thanks to his exceptional ball point drawings and water colour miniatures.

Abe has particpated in many local and international exhbitions. Some of the highlights include:

  • Group show at Botswana Art Gallery (best drawing award)

  • South Wales, Cardiff Old Library (UK)

  • Black artists in America – Philadelphia

  • New York Art Expo

  • Group show, Oman (United Arab Emirates)

  • Hyde Park Corner Miniature Art Exhibition (highly commendable work)

  • Cow parade – design and execution

  • Raphael Hotel mural – design and execution

  • Fourth World Miniature Art Exhibition, Tasmania, Australia
