Collaborate HighlightsCollaborate was inspired by two collaborative pieces created by Nkosinathi Ngulube, Lebohang Goge and Robyn Field as a backdrop for 'Talking Heads' - a meeting of young minds hosted by Unity.
A few Unity artists (Mandy Coppes, Goge and Robyn Field) carried on the collaborative intention, and their new work was shown at Collaborate, the first exhibition of its kind at Unity. Collaborate offered a unique mix of styles, materials and influences - from waste art to graffiti to the beading techniques normally associated with craft. The multi-level 'cross-overs' reflect the new work and artistic attitudes currently emerging from Joburg. Collaborate will be an annual exhibition, to be held in March each year.
